Refrigerator Repair FAQs

Why is my refrigerator running constantly but not cooling?

This is often caused by dirty condenser coils that restrict heat transfer, or a failing evaporator fan. When the fridge cannot properly disperse heat, the compressor runs non-stop trying to reach the set temperature.

Why is water leaking onto my kitchen floor?

A blocked defrost drain is the most common culprit. When the defrost cycle runs, water has nowhere to go and overflows the drain pan. It can also be a cracked water supply line leading to the ice maker.

Is a built-in refrigerator worth repairing?

Almost always. Built-in units like Sub-Zero or Thermador represent a significant investment and are designed for longevity. Repairing a compressor or sealed system is highly cost-effective compared to replacing a $10,000+ unit.
